Religion and politics from the point of view of a centre-left atheist humanist, spilling over into science, history and other related topics.

Income generated from ads will be donated to various charities such as moderate centre-left groups, humanist, humanitarian and wildlife protection and welfare organisations. Hopefully religious and other offensive advertising content has now been blocked from this site. Please let me know if you see any.

Obscene or obnoxious messages, preaching and advertising spam will be removed.
If possible, please provide a citation for any substantive claims or at least give a cogent reason why you accept it as factual. A quote from a book held to be holy by a minority of the world's people is not a scientific argument. Remember: your opinion is not an established fact unless corroborated.
Regrettably, due to persistent abuse by a loon hiding behind religion, I have reverted to moderating all comments. I will revert to open commenting if and when the abuser matures enough to behave like a normal adult, something which sadly he shows little sign of doing.
Additionally, because this loon has now degenerated to impersonating others by using their Twitter ID and address on comments, all such comments will now be routinely deleted.

That is such a good post. I heart it when the atheist blogosphere posts something other than atheist blogosphere stuffs (it shows our humanity). I like turkey and all, but it needs a little more fat-too lean fer me. Awesome buddy, if i don't get back here by the time Jesus' faux b-day happens...I hope that you and yours have a fantastic secular holiday (where evah y'all live)), that y'all are warm and safe and keep up the blogging great work.
